The neighbours antennas

Now I must be getting desperate for things to point my camera at, I have resorted to photographing the neighbours antenna, although I did think they look kinda cool the way they were lit from underneath a little bit close encounters'' or something. I really hate having neighbours, don't hate my neighbours, just the fact that I have to have them , was so used to living out of town away from everyone were if I wanted to do a nudie run to the clothes line in the morning I could and the only ones who were traumatised were my own family.

At least Seamus, Paddy and I will get to go fishing tomorrow, have been promising I will take them for a while now but life just seems to be getting in the way. I'm really looking forward to it, fishing is something I loved when I was younger but with the exception of the odd outing with my big brothers, was put aside to untangle kids fishing rods for a few years, now they can mostly do that themselves I can get back to dangling (notice I said dangling not angling, I don't profess to be any sort of expert). I come from a long line of anglers and danglers, most of the family has enjoyed dropping a rod in. My Nana (Mum's mum ) was a really keen fisherwoman and could be found frequenting the wharf almost daily with her little cane fishing basket and her stripey fold out stool and she almost always had a fish or three for lunch or dinner and sometimes for the rest of us as well. Hopefully I will have some fishing photos to put on here from tomorrow and maybe even some photos of fish, fingers crossed.

The dog

Rhonda bought this for Joseph when he was quite young after him telling her all he wanted for his birthday was a dog,(we already owned three but two were working dogs) there is a little matching cat too, they are so cute and have sat in various spots around the houses we have lived in since. They've become quite little treasures to our family, especially now since she has gone, she always had the knack of getting something just right for gifts, like the first ever Australian scrap booking mag for my birthday, the one that started me on this road I'm on at present.

Rivals

You wouldn't guess it by looking at these shots of the boys doing their Easter coloring comps,but Joseph and Seamus are such huge rivals for just about everything at home, from which chair they sit on, Mum's lap, the computer, who does things first or last or whatever, even if they happen to get a cold together there is always a dispute over just who is the sickest... Boys just give it a break, friendly competition is one this but this is constant, unless of course someone comes between these brothers, then it's side by side.

Izzy's layout

I used a few of the photos I took for the POTD challenge to create yet another layout on Izzy, really do need more girl photos to scrapbook, but she is so cute. Used the new basic grey papers and MM rubons for the words, the colour in the pp matches her top so well in real life, it looks as though it was made just for this. Not sure how well the words will be able to be read at this size but they say live, love, laugh, dream, each day. the bling in the middle of the flower is a little off centre but I have moved it since, just in case it annoys you as much as it annoys me.

Playing with the tubes again.

Lady beetle versus those icky little aphids, hope the lady beetle wins. The flower from our miniature garlic plants, they are so pretty and delicate, love them waving about in the garden.
A flower from off the creeper in the back yard, not sure what sort it is, it came from my nieces house, I pulled up a runner bought it home and shoved it in the ground, six months later it's taller than me (not that that is difficult) Not a fantastic shot but I do love the colours in it, there are masses of flowers growing across the top of our back fence, very pretty, I hope it's not a noxious weed.

Joseph's football dude.

Joseph is football mad, especailly about his favourite team Richmond. We have drawings all over the house of Richmond players, old and new, in various poses. I think he did quite a good job with this one he drew in paint on the computer, especially considering he's only 10, does a much better job with the mouse than his mother.

Our incredimail notifier.

This cracked me up, our notifier pops up with random icons, sometimes a flower sometimes a puppy, you get the idea, well this one is a geat big cheesy grin and it landed right over my mouth on our desktop photo, couldn't have been placed more perfectly, I just had to take a shot of it.

Everyday life
Everyday since we met around 20 years ago this man has been part of my life.
It's one of the first captures I have of him in his work gear.

O.K. not everyday but every week day someone in the house has homework, ranging from reading to maths that I long ago forgot how to do.
Here's Seamus diligently doing his on Wednesday night, he has a little case of hero worship with his teacher(his first ever male teacher) and would hate to disappoint him by not completing anything, just hope it keeps up all year long.

February's photo of the day challenge is finally over, here are the last two photos I took for the month. I must admit that while time intensive it was a great idea to get me out there and actually use the camera every day and for everyday things. A photo a week challenge would suit my time commitments better though.

Shopping at Ikea, the things my friends will do for me to get a photo.

Sunday and Monday Tan and I went to Adelaide for a work??? weekend. Sunday we met up with Donna at the S.A. stamping and scrapbooking fare and scared poor Don by launching ourselves at her. After around an hour or so shopping we did Ikea (love that store and will introduce you to my purchase, my new love Alex, at a later date)) and the Marion shopping center. Little country girls that we are, were as excited to shop in Big W as any of the other boutique stores, sad isn't it? Sunday night consisted of a thoroughly yummy meal at the Red rock noodle bar and lots and lots of giggles, then back to Donna's at Strathalbyn, only to turn back around again into the city for a workshop and paper release for Scrapbooking Australia on Monday, a great weekend of giggling, chatting and food.

Seamus calls his little top teeth his mini teeth, further down the page you will see a post about my concern with them not falling out yet...well it finally happened on Friday, after he and Paddy worked on it for ages, it only became wobbly a few days before and next minute it was out, must have been really ready.

Nothing better at the end of a long hot(very hot at the moment) day, so cool and refreshing with just a little bit of zing (the ginger and the alcohol)

I love her because she makes me laugh, caught her stealing the tomatoes straight off the bush, I swear that dog would eat anything. Not the best of shots, I had the camera on the wrong settings but sometimes a shots just gotta be for the chuckle value.

Getting in early before I head off for the weekend yet again.
